time to embrace.

8.30.2011

The fair. A sweet reminder that there's still a bit of Summer left to enjoy.

Working at my church's Rwandan coffee booth. Admiring my little town from above, via a late-night ferris wheel ride. Discovering new and delicious fruits {hello, pluot}. Doodling on my chalkboard wall.  These are just a few things that prolong this Summer bliss.

But the fair, it's also somewhat of a painful reminder. A reminder that the end of Summer is near, and I'll soon be back in school. School and I? We are not good friends -- at all. We never really have been, and we probably never will be.

That's not to say I'm not excited for autumn, the season itself. I'm ecstatic, to say the least. Chunky knits, cozy scarves, and pumpkin lattes are calling my name. You could say that Carlotta explains my exact thoughts in this post. Which doesn't surprise me, quite honestly. After all, we have come to the conclusion that we're twin sisters separated at birth. ;)

So, I guess what I'm trying to say is -- as much as I'm going to miss the carefree aura of Summer, I'm really going to try and embrace Autumn, and all that it brings.

But at this very moment, the sun is shining, it's twenty-three degrees celsius, and there's a fresh jar of sun-tea on the table. I'm off to go make the most of it.

xo,

Abbey

  1. Lovely post, miss Abbey! The second photo of the apple is absolutely stunning. The lighting and colors are beautiful.

I totally agree with you on enjoying and embracing each season. My mom and I have come to the conclusion that getting tired of the season we're in (near the end, at least) is simply God's way of preparing us for the next.

As for you and Carlotta being twins seperated at birth? I totally agree.

I've swooned over your chalkboard wall already...but I'm going to have to rave again. Genius. Your artistic skills never fail to amaze me.
