{lazy days}

Today is just one of those days where you don't get much accomplished, and you're totally fine with that.  I had two last teeth extracted this morning, so I am declaring today a lazy one. In just a few short days, I get my braces on, and I'm kinda terrified. For those of you who have had braces - any tips?

{sunflares}

You put your eye up to your camera's viewfinder, and are greeted by those luminescent splashes of light in every colour. They dance across the scenery as you move around to get the perfect shot, and when you do, you're reminded of how beautiful the golden hour is.

{iced coffee}

These days, the weather patterns are just all over the place. But whether the sun is brightly shining, or we're in the middle of a thunderstorm, there's nothing like relishing in a cup of iced coffee. Mingled with a bit of brown sugar and cream, it's like capturing Summer in a cup.

{adventuring}

I've always loved exploring. Old buildings. Forests. Lakes. You name it. Fortunately, my Dad is the same way, so Summer is the perfect time to go adventuring together. Cameras in hand, dressed for the wrong occasion {well, me anyways.}, it's always a good time.

Happy Friday, friends.

xo,

Abbey

  2. Lovely photos!

    I got my braces back in February and was sore for about five days. Make sure you have really soft foods to eat. I recommend yogurt, oatmeal, soggy cereal, mashed potatoes, soup, etc.
    After about a week, you'll be able to eat normally again. Just stay away from hard and sticky foods, and make sure to floss and brush your teeth!

    Hope this helps :)

  5. I'm loving these photos ~ the first and third ones especially :) That composition book is so cute! Adventures are wonderful.
    I know how you feel, even though I haven't had any teeth taken out...!
    Braces will make your mouth sore for a few days, but after that, you get pretty used to them! I get mine off this fall and I keep thinking of how weird it will feel not having them on anymore!

  7. Braces? Been there, done that. They're not exactly fun, but they're definitely worth it. I recommend drinking lots of smoothies and cold drinks/soft foods when you first get them on...good luck!
    And everything else? Positively swoon worthy.

  12. For braces, just eat light foods that you don't have to chew on on your first day. Then when you become used to braces, you can eat whatever. I hope that helps. But yes, your blog makes me smile and puts a happy joy to my mood. ^_^ Hehe, your nails are beautiful!

  14. Your posts always add sunshine to my days! Gorgeous. Just gorgeous.

    I just got braces on a month ago but I am certainly not accustomed to them yet. I think the most important thing is that you need to like them, or it will be a year long war and your self esteem may drop. Getting them on doesn't hurt much, I wish you the best of luck!
