rhubarb patch thoughts.

I've been missing summer a great deal lately. Our first lake trip was confirmed last week, and now everything reminds me of the place. Not like it didn't before, but now I can't even sip an iced coffee or catch the faintest whiff of a neighbour's bonfire without my mind packing up and wandering off to my favourite lake-bound haunts.
And though my mind may wander, for now I'll stay right here. I have the rest of this week to do what I please, mostly - even if that's just pretending it's sundress & sandal & gardening weather (it's not), reading a lot of rookie mag, and painting my fingernails five different shades of blue.

    this is so beautiful, abbey. ALWAYS love your photos and words. I'm itching for summer in a way that's reminiscent of how old sweaters scratch just right. ready to slip it on and embrace it. xo

    so beautiful, abbey. I miss summer (I'm already sad thinking about next September!), but at the same time I'm a little apprehensive of what it might be like...our family has been through a million changes, and I know it's not going to be like any summer I've ever lived through before.

    lately it seems like summer is just out of reach, right at my fingertips! i'm with you on the trips -- the thought of spending time with my family at the beach just makes the longing worse.
