Our Sundays have greatly enriched my summer. I'm thankful for you and the things you appreciate, the things you notice - E Minor and a really good cup of tea and when people say your name when they're speaking to you.
I like the way you talk about people. Graciously. Enthusiastically. As if they can hear you from streets, towns, provinces away.

I like your ideas. Ice cream for lunch and classical music on your basement floor and "I just gotta go buy a ukulele real quick,".
I even like the things I tease you for - the noises you make when you drive and the way you pronounce vanilla and salsa and pillow. How you refuse to eat your cereal with milk and the way your fingers fit together like puzzle pieces.
I just like who you are and I wanted to tell you.
these are beautiful! i love her tattoo and dreads. she sounds like a wonderful person.

ReplyDeleteCharacter sketches and pieces of a poem. I rather like this, Abbey girl. Beautiful images, even lovelier words. Not just a photo or a phrase about the people, but a true glimpse of them, the roughness of their soul.
ReplyDeleteThis is absolutely beautiful, perfectly written and lovely photographs of your friend...what a treasure. :)
