I love the carefree aura that each day at the lake brings. The juxtaposition of fun and serene times is just my cup of tea.
{Meadow's car}
Boat rides at sunset, looking for black bears with my Grampy, swooning over antique books in my favourite shoppe, and writing letters on the beach, are just a few things that had me smiling ear to ear.
It was so nice to spend time with family members I hadn't seen in years. Hugs were always being given, and laughter was constantly shared.
After moving our departure time ahead two... or three or four times, we eventually had to say goodbye to the lake and our family.
A stop at the flea market, along with some iced green tea, was the perfect way to end our trip.
A wonderful time was had by all, but we're quite happy to be home again. I'd love to know - what's your absolute favourite place to visit in the Summer?
xo,
Abbey
these photos are so lovely, abbey -- they, along with your beautiful words, have me itching to pack up for the lack. and loving the colorful garland and strawberries in the last photo; so gorgeous.

ReplyDeletemy favorite place to visit in summer? hmm...that's tough. i love my grandparents' cabin in the mountains, although we sadly aren't going there this year. also, wherever my cousins are is bound to be a good time. ;)
All of these are so summery and wonderful!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite place to visit in the summer is also a lake a few hours away from my house, mostly because we get to stay with some dear family friends.
You are such a good photographer- these are all so, so pretty!! I'm glad you had a fun vacation! :)
ReplyDeleteSuch pretty photos darling! When I was younger, I used to live on the beach in Michigan. I've recently had a really strong urge to go back for a visit. I'm trying to convince my parents... It might be working.

I'm also especially smitten with the homemade jellies photo. Just made peach jam for the first time today. Pure summer in a jar.
Wow, you're one amazing photographer! I found your blog from the guest post you did about the scrapbooking whiteboard, which was awesome, by the way -- and I love it!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely blog you have! These photos are great, nice editing too! I liked the one with the worn-out, frayed Tibetan prayer flags especially. There was hope and loss rolled in one in that photo.
ReplyDeleteIn any case, thanks for sharing and I'll be following your blog :)
